How you will contribute:
Use your foundation in lean principles to implement, research, and develop new processes and equipment to support our focus on automation and keep Ahern on the leading edge. Apply engineering standards and procedures to review and improve how we process work through our production shops. You will be involved with developing management control systems to make financial planning and cost analysis more efficient. Use your engineering foundation to advance your career into upper management.
What you need to qualify:
Ahern will help make the most of your Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably Industrial, Manufacturing, or Mechanical Engineering. Previous internship experience in an engineering role in a manufacturing or custom job shop setting, along with proficiency in design tools such as AutoCAD, Inventor, and load and energy modeling software, is a plus. Prior experience in completing lean continuous improvement projects, a solid foundation in industrial engineering and manufacturing methods, and an understanding of automation and robotic equipment will be crucial to your success. You can stand out by bringing internship or co-op experience, a strong academic foundation in industrial or process engineering, and a proactive mindset suited for a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. A commitment to providing exceptional customer service, maintaining cutting-edge industry knowledge, and executing tasks with meticulous detail will be crucial.
