CDFW is seeking a highly motivated Senior Environmental Scientist (Specialist) to act as liaison to Southern California Edison (SCE). Under the direction of the Senior Environmental Scientist (Supervisory), the incumbent will work independently, identifying problems, developing courses of action, and performing assigned tasks, including studies, reports, documents, and fieldwork. They will provide consultative advice to SCE on behalf of the CDFW Habitat Conservation Program and coordinate with regional and statewide staff on SCE-related projects. Responsibilities include conducting environmental review, permitting, and conservation program & planning functions, including, but not limited to, California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreements (LSAA), California Endangered Species Act (CESA), fire prevention and resiliency, and Natural Community Conservation Planning (NCCP) throughout the Inland Deserts Region, as well as ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations. These functions involve complex issues and require extensive knowledge and understanding of California fish and wildlife resources, ecological principles, lake and stream processes, applicable permitting and environmental laws, and CDFW administrative procedures and policies. Senior Environmental Scientist (Specialist):This position is a 12-month Limited Term (LT) and may be extended up to 24 months or become permanent.
