Make an Impact Where It Matters Most

Design interfaces that mission users trust. You will shape clean, accessible web experiences across a family of applications. You will make smart choices in layout, color, type, and iconography. Your work will improve speed to insight and reduce user friction.

Here’s What Your Day-to-Day Might Include

• Translate requirements into wireframes, mocks, and production ready UI.

• Build and maintain design systems and component libraries.

• Apply responsive design across viewports.

• Choose color, typography, and iconography with intention.

• Partner with engineers to ship pixel perfect interfaces.

• Validate designs through reviews and usability feedback.

• Document patterns and decisions for reuse.

• Review implemented UI and log fixes in Jira.

• Work in Linux for basic tasks and handoffs.

• Keep artifacts current in Confluence.

Minimum Qualifications

• Clearance: Top Secret Clearance with Full Scope Polygraph, must be active, we do not have the ability to sponsor clearances

• Citizenship: Must be a U.S. Citizen, we can not sponsor visa

• Experience and Education, SWE 2:

  • Master’s in Computer Science or related field with 3 years as a Software Engineer, or

  • Bachelor’s in Computer Science or related field with 5 years as a Software Engineer, or

  • 7 years as a Software Engineer on work of similar scope, type, and complexity

Required Skills

• Proven UI and UX design for web applications.

• Strong portfolio with high quality artifacts.

• Figma, Adobe XD, or Sketch.

• Layout principles, design systems, and responsive design.

• Color theory, typography, iconography, and visual hierarchy.

• Familiarity with Gestalt laws of perception.

• Basic Linux CLI.

• HTML and CSS familiarity for design handoff.

• Write clear documentation and review results against requirements.

• Source control with Git.

• Agile team experience.

Desired Qualifications

• Atlassian tools, Jira and Confluence.

• Agile, Scrum, or SAFe familiarity.

• Comfort collaborating on test plans for UI acceptance.

• Awareness of accessibility standards.

• Ability to create simple data queries for UI testing.

Compensation Range: $155,000.00 - $205,000.00 
*The salary range provided reflects an estimate based on current market trends and may be adjusted based on factors such as the candidate's experience, skills, and qualifications. The final offer will be tailored after a thorough evaluation of the candidate’s background and suitability for the role. Please note that this range is intended as a guideline and is subject to flexibility.
