Job Title: Medical Assistant

Contract Type: Interim Assignment (7–8 Weeks)

Location: Leonardtown, MD

Pay Rate: Up to $24/hour

Schedule
  • Saturday: 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM (Every third Saturday)

    • When scheduled to work Saturday, the preceding Thursday will be off

  • Lunch Break: 12:30 PM – 1:00 PM (Daily)

Position Overview

"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking a skilled and motivated Medical Assistant to support both front-office and back-office operations within a clinical healthcare setting. This interim role requires a team-oriented professional who is committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care while efficiently managing administrative and clinical responsibilities. A strong focus on health education, outreach, and collaboration is essential.

Key Responsibilities Clinical Support
  • Greet, room, and prepare patients for examinations

  • Obtain and document vital signs accurately

  • Perform phlebotomy/venipuncture and specimen collection

  • Administer vaccines and assist with EKGs and point-of-care (POC) testing

  • Provide general clinical assistance as needed

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized clinical environment

Administrative & Front Office Support
  • Answer incoming calls and assist patients with inquiries

  • Schedule appointments and manage patient flow

  • Support front-desk operations as required

  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system

Collaboration & Patient Care
  • Work collaboratively with clinical and administrative staff

  • Communicate effectively with patients to support education and outreach initiatives

  • Contribute positively to a fast-paced, patient-focused healthcare environment

Qualifications & Skills
  • Minimum 1 year of Medical Assistant experience (excluding externship)

  • 2–3 years of overall experience preferred

  • Medical Assistant certification strongly preferred

  • Occupational Health experience strongly preferred

  • Proficiency in phlebotomy/venipuncture and EMR systems required
