Industrial Electrician | Portage, MI

Salary Range: $62,000 - $95,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We partner with manufacturers across Portage seeking Industrial Electricians who want more than a lateral move. These companies hire intentionally, and we connect them with professionals ready for roles that fit.

Key Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical systems, machinery, and equipment, including PLCs, motors, and control panels.
• Perform preventative maintenance on electrical components to ensure optimal operation and minimize downtime.
• Install, calibrate, and maintain new electrical equipment, wiring, and control systems according to blueprints and specifications.
• Interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals to guide installation, repair, and maintenance tasks.
• Adhere strictly to all electrical codes, safety regulations (e.g., Lockout/Tagout), and company policies.
• Conduct regular inspections and tests of electrical systems and components to identify potential hazards or malfunctions.
• Document all maintenance activities, repairs, and parts used accurately for record-keeping and inventory management.

Recommended Qualifications

• Journeyman Electrician license or equivalent state certification.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing industrial electrical systems, including PLCs, motor controls, and VFDs.
• Strong ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
• Comprehensive knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and NFPA 70E safety standards.
• Proven experience performing preventive and predictive maintenance on manufacturing electrical equipment.

Bonus Qualifications

• Strong mechanical aptitude or experience with industrial machinery.
• Proficiency in PLC programming (beyond troubleshooting) for various platforms (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens).
• Experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) for work order management and preventative maintenance.
• Certification or specialized training in robotics, automation, or specific high-voltage systems.
