Job Description

**Description** As a Fiber Optic Splicer, your main duties will consist of installing, splicing, troubleshooting, conducting, recording tests, verify and document installations for inside and outside plant Fiber Optic systems for both new and existing applications. -Provide 24x7 emergency response support. -Work with clients to plan installations as required. -Install, repair, and test fiber cable in a variety of environments (underground, indoor, aerial). -Terminate cable utilizing a variety of connectors. **Skills** Splicing, Cabling, Cable, Optic, Fiber optic installation, General labor, Splice, Telecommunication, Fiber optic, Construction **Top Skills Details** Splicing,Cabling,Cable,Optic,Fiber optic installation,General labor **Additional Skills & Qualifications** -Able to read prints and other engineering documentation. -Mechanical and fusion splicing experience. -Demonstrated understanding of fiber counts and colors. -Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. -Good verbal and written communication skills. -Computer literacy with MS Office products and testing equipment. -Fiber Optic industry construction, maintenance, and testing experience. -Mechanically inclined and detail-oriented. **Experience Level** Intermediate Level **Job Type & Location** This is a Permanent position based out of Plainfield, IN. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $43680.00 - $72000.00/yr. Medical, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, etc. o HSA o 401k o PTO(eligible after 90 days of employment) On-call o Typically every 3rd to 4th week (depending on department and needs) o Scheduled typically 2 months in advance o $100 on the following weeks check (basically to answer the call) o Any call outs from 6pm - 6am a $100 gift card will be issued (this is in additional to other items listed herein) (gift cards paid out once a month) o Once on-call schedule is made up, up to the individual to switch with others Night Premium o From 9pm - 6am an additional $2.00 per hour Travel o $50 per night per diem o Hotel paid for (Crew leads get own room, everyone else will room with another individual) o Pay is the same hourly rate during travel time **Workplace Type** This is a fully onsite position in Plainfield,IN. **Application Deadline** This position is anticipated to close on Dec 24, 2025. **About Aerotek:** We know that finding work is hard, and finding meaningful work is harder.
