Facilities Services Division provides quality customer service by maintaining a safe, healthy, and aesthetically pleasing environment in which students, faculty, and staff can function and accomplish their educational objectives and by supporting a patient care culture that continuously improves. Facilities Services' responsibilities include Interior and Exterior Facilities Support, Construction, Space Management, and Environmental Services.
Job Summary Inspects, repairs, installs, and maintains electrical systems, machinery, and equipment. Ensures all work performed meets required safety codes and is properly inspected. Uses a variety of tools and equipment, such as power construction equipment, measuring devices, power tools, and testing equipment. Typically requires a high school diploma. Typically requires Electrician License. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline.
Responsibilities The job duties include, but are not limited to:
- Performs routine repairs on electrical and lighting system components. Tests and checks electrical circuits, equipment, and appliances using appropriate testing instruments. Replaces faulty switches, outlets, wiring, and other common 120V electrical system components such as lighting fixtures, tubes, ballasts, receptacles, circuit breakers, and occupancy sensor relays.
- Performs the installation of basic electrical system components, to include switches, light fixtures, receptacles, fans, circuit breakers, and associated wiring.
- Assists higher level electricians in the execution of larger and more complex repair and installation projects involving service panels, feeders, branch circuits, and specialized electrical systems such as lighting controls, generators, emergency and standby power systems, fire alarms, and motor controls.
- Ensures all work is performed in accordance with the latest version of the National Electrical Code.
- May be required to serve in an on-call status and remain work-ready when scheduled for an on-call period or rotation.
- Perform all other duties/tasks as required.
Required Qualifications High School diploma or GED from a recognized State or Federal accredited organization and one year experience; Valid driver's license and qualified to operate Augusta University vehicles
Required Experience
Experience in installation, repair and operation of a wide array of common electrical and lighting system components.

Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position
