Job Description and Duties

Under the general direction of the Staff Services Manager I, Contracts, Grants and Loans Office, the Associate Governmental Program Analyst performs the more responsible varied, analytical and complex consultative services in the planning, development, accounting, evaluation, award, fiscal compliance and reporting of contracts, grants and loans programs. Working independently on fiscal and program activities are an integral part of this analyst's responsibilities

Working Conditions

The CEC supports a hybrid workplace model with office-based and remote-centered workers. Limited in-person attendance and occasional travel may be required based on the needs of the division. Regular and consistent attendance is essential to successful performance. This position is remote-centered, which means the incumbent works 50 percent or more of their time from an alternate work location.

Teleworking is only available for employees who reside in California. You must be located in California and provide your in-state address prior to your start date. Regular and consistent attendance is essential to successful performance. Occasional travel may be required based on the needs of the division.

Desirable Qualifications

In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:

1) The successful applicant should have experience with state contracting including working knowledge of the Public Contract Code, State Administrative Manual, and State Contract Manual.
2) Strong communications skills. Effective communication with team members and stakeholders, and adapting to changing circumstances as needed.
3) Be effective in adapting to new policies and procedures in a dynamic environment.
4) Good problem-solving skills. Addressing potential contract issues or delays and handling modifications.
5) Works well in a team environment.
