CNC Tube Laser Technician

Type: Temp-to-Hire

Location: Pewaukee, WI

Compensation: $20.00–$24.00 per hour with a $2.00 increase upon direct hire

Schedule: 2nd shift, Monday–Friday, 2:00 PM–10:30 PM

A day in this role

At 2:00 PM, you clock in and review your queue of tube-cutting orders. You load material, call up the correct program, and fine-tune tech tables so the laser produces clean, accurate cuts. First-off parts are inspected with calipers, micrometers, and a tape measure against job-specific criteria. You deburr and finish edges so assemblies move smoothly to the next operation, then stage and prepare orders to ship. If you discover substandard material, you immediately alert the Quality Manager. Throughout your shift you work safely, speak up about hazards to the right person (and your supervisor when appropriate), and handle routine equipment and shop upkeep. You plan your sequence to hit deadlines—and wrap at 10:30 PM with orders on track.

What you’ll do

• Cut and inspect tube material to job-specific requirements using a tube laser.
• Edit programs and update technology tables to maintain part quality.
• Deburr and finish parts to specification using fabrication equipment.
• Prepare, stage, and prioritize orders; plan methods and setups for timely completion.
• Notify the Quality Manager of any nonconforming or substandard material.
• Operate safely at all times and report potential safety concerns to the appropriate person and supervisor when needed.
• Perform basic maintenance on equipment and contribute to building upkeep.
• Carry out other duties as assigned.

What you bring

• At least 1 year of successful experience in a shop environment.
• Ability to set up and operate a tube laser.
• Blueprint reading skills and proficiency with measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, tape measure, etc.).
• Previous forklift experience.
