MLDP Overview
Imagine yourself at the heart of Amazon's innovative retail ecosystem, where every decision you make impacts millions of customers. The MLDP internship launches your journey into Amazon's retail leadership pipeline. Beginning as a Senior Vendor Manager intern, you'll gain hands-on experience in P&L ownership and strategic business management. Upon successfully completing your MBA and joining full-time, you'll embark on a structured three-year leadership development journey. The program starts with a year as Senior Vendor Manager, followed by a year as Senior Product Manager, and concludes with a year as Senior Supply Chain Manager. Each one-year rotation is designed to build comprehensive retail leadership capabilities while delivering immediate business impact.
Summer Internship Focus
As a Senior Vendor Manager intern, you'll:
- Develop and optimize strategic vendor relationships that enhance product selection and customer experience
- Conduct comprehensive financial analyses to identify revenue-generating opportunities
- Leverage market insights to drive customer-focused improvements
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop innovative business solutions
- Analyze complex market trends and translate them into actionable strategies

Key job responsibilities
- Conduct financial analysis of business opportunities to meet and exceed revenue and profitability targets by executing annual and ongoing vendor negotiations.
- Have an understanding of customer needs and use that knowledge to advocate for, and drive delivery of, improvements that provide Amazon customers with an unparalleled shopping experience.
- Build vendor/brand relationships - be the primary point of contact for vendor selection on-boarding, escalations, and negotiations.
- Have a thorough understanding of the industry, business trends, events, and continually monitor both industry and competitor developments.
- Maximize Amazon's business and financial profitability through selection optimization and expansion opportunities.
- Coordinate across cross-functional teams and communicate with internal and external stakeholders, all while meeting tight deadlines.
About the team
Program Details
- Duration: 12 consecutive weeks
- Start Date: May-June 2026
- Location: Seattle, WA (relocation provided and expected upon program start)
- Opportunity for full-time conversion into the MLDP program
- Team placement based on business needs
Basic Qualifications
- Are 18 years of age or older
- Work 40 hours/week minimum and commit to 12 week internship maximum
- Currently enrolled in MBA program at the time of application with anticipated graduation dates between December 1, 2026 and June 30, 2027.
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years of full-time industry work experience, which occurred between graduation from your undergraduate program and prior to starting your MBA program, OR 3+ years of military work experience prior to starting your MBA program.
- Background in retail, e-commerce, or supply chain management
- Experience with financial modeling and strategic business planning
- Knowledge of market research and competitive analysis techniques
- Demonstrated leadership in academic or professional settings
- Proficiency in advanced data visualization and analysis software

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $55.48/hr in our lowest geographic market up to $88.94/hr in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
